clutch

Have a 95 F-150 with 151000 miles. New clutch put in at 100000. The pedal comes to about almost to the top before it engages, then the trans seems to slip. All help appreciated. Thanks

Since manual transmitions can't slip unless you are talking about the shifter comming out of gear, it kind of sounds like you have a bad clutch. What brand is this clutch that you currently have installed? I hope it wasn't one of those remanufactured clutches....

The problem is most likely in the slave cylinder (which is the concentric/internal type) or the throwout bearing. It could be a worn-out master cylinder, but they don't often go bad - the slaves do.

When you replaced the clutch, did you also replace the pressure plate and throw out bearing? I agree with steve83 the slave cylinder does go out.

Did you see any fluid under the bell housing?
