Front clip removal?

So this weekend I plan to remove the front clip on my truck so I can pull the motor. How do you guys do it? Any tips or tricks? Do I take it off as one piece or do I remove it piece by piece? If you have any pics please post them.
Thanks

Just asking , why are you pulling the clip ? The motor comes out with the clip on , at least mine and others I have pulled .

Easy enough to pull the clip as one piece. The bolts you can see on the firewall, there's one down low on the inside, the one inside the door too. The radiator support bolts, and that's about it. Took me a couple hours to pull the whole clip and motor.

I have read on other threads that it is much easier to pull a motor with the front clip off. (you don't have to worry about accidentally messing up your grill or fenders)

A cherry picker makes quick work of the job. Here's a picture from when I dropped a new one down on mine.

The radiator support bolts are a pain to get out. I ended up cutting mine and will replace them, try not to mess your spacers up to. Thats what keeps your fenders lined up with your doors. (fender and door gaps) If you do mess them up like I did then they cost $80 bucks from LMC to replace. If your just pulling the motor and you have a motor lift then Id leave the clip on, but then again it is nice to have all that room when its off.

It is your egg , fry it the way you like . I just don't see why you would pull the front clip . It ain't hard to pull these motors , I work on them often , so i guess my opinion does not count . Best of luck to you !

Thanks for the heads up! I probably would have ended up cutting them too! Now I know not to be carful of the spacers too! Thanks

Also if you have a highboy. Especially one with a lift. You almost have to pull the clip. Most cherry pickers don't go high enough.

Good to know! I have to pull the motor from my highboy too, so I can get to the trans.
