Well - Im getting abot 10 mpg @70mph and around 12.5 @85 mph. I did alot of checking and found that I need to change my MAS Air Flow Censor in order to keep using my K&N kit. I was told that the K&N kit pushes too much air and the stock censor can not match it with fuel. What are your thoughts about this? I read alot about the MAS Censor and it says its good over 2000 rpm. My truck runs 2000 rpm at 72mph. I NEED my mileage to be atleast 14, and I know this is possible. I dont have much torque either - Im going to change my cat-back if the gears I put in dont help. Right now I have 3.73 and am going to put in 4.11. That will bring my rpms up about 250. I have been reading on this for a while and that is what I came up with.
Be careful when putting on the full K&N kit. If you already did this - whats your mileage. My tires are 35"
The stock sensor can only flow so much air and will read whatever it can possibly flow. You may try cleaning it. Sometimes the oil from the filter will get the sensor wire dirty, but this usually causes a lean condition, it sounds like you have a rich condition. On another note, have you recalibrated your speedo for the large tires that you have now? It will read slow, showing that you are going less miles than you really are and would show your mpg as lower than it actually is.

Yep - I had it calibrated when it was done. I had the dealer do a fuel test on the truck last week and they said it was getting great gas mileage. I took the truck to work yesterday - I did about 85mph all the way there and got great gas mileage. Its when I go about 70 that it sucks. Im guessing that the gearing is the problem. According to some internet sites I found, 4.11 gears are the ones I need to put my RPMs about what it was with the smaller tires. I was hoping that it was something a little cheaper.
