The 13 I drive does the same thing. You have to anticipate when you are going to need to accelerate, & plan accordingly. Hard to do, as you have to plan ahead by a few seconds, & mash it early. And keep it mashed, don't let up. Really hard to do when you are towing.

 

My 12 is that way to. I took it to ford in 2014 for a computer reflash which made no difference. I put a tuner in it and it takes this lag away. Responds like it should now.
