Hi guys, in a continuing quest to secure an F250 the next hurdle is insurance.... So far, between a few of the major players I am getting quotes varying between 1200 through to 2400 for comprehensive insurance for private use within the ACT region. Anyone had any good or bad experiences or have any recommendations for reasonable priced insurance for one of these trucks?
Any feedback would be great.
You wont find a reasonable price anywhere. Mines under my business and I pay alot more than you have quoted. Unfortunately with these trucks everyone thinks you are rolling in it. Funny how no one bats an eyelid when you spend 60K on a Hilux. ????
It all depends on
where you live, driving record, how old you are, market value the list goes on blaa, blaa
get quotes from all aussie insurance companys and go from there
mine is under 1200 clams and agreed value 80000 clams

I know. It's fricking stupid.
The old's Winnebago only costs $400 a year to insure, and it's market value is double that of an F-truck.
I pay less than 700 per year for full comprehensive insurance on mine. It is with Shannons. I have 7 vehicles insured (bikes, drag car, F250, etc) and get a discount, but the discount is only about 5%, so full price would not be that much higher.
Thanks guys, all good feedback. I have a couple of toys insured through Lumleys which is underwritten by Westfarmers really great prices but they tend to be more interested in lower usage..... So far the best price I have been quoted is through Allianz at just on a grand, will keep trying!
Mine is through AAMI. I pay $717 with a free windscreen option. The vehicle is on an agreed maxium payout amount of $62,500. A bit low, but by the same token I didn't pay very much for my truck.
Hi all,
Hope not too much over indulgence over the Xmas break
Insurance due in Jan, Worth while shopping around
Got mine down from $1030 to $840 with an agreed value
Pity it couldn't be said for house insurance up this way
I used to use a broker and had a CGU policy, which was great until they kept jacking up the premium every year, never mind I was rating 1 when I got the policy and never had a claim the whole time.
When we picked up another car i Rang Shannon's for a quote, ended up with 3 vehicles insured for much less than 2 on the old policy! I am very happy with Shannon's.
I got a good deal with Allianz through a broker.
Way better than anything I could get on to myself.
