67 Side Chrome

I've been looking for new repo upper side chrome for my 67 (the stuff that goes on the side bump). But it appears that it is only available for 68-72. What is the difference between the thin 68 mouldings and the 67 thin mouldings?
Can I use 68 chrome?
Thanks!

I think the 67 is thinner. If you were to buy a complete set it would be OK.

Check my gallery, there are pics of the 67 and the 69.

Also check the links to my pages at the bottom of the gallery, as they have better pictures.

Yes the '67 molding down the center has a slightly different profile, it peaks in the middle while the '68+ is just rounded. Yet another unique aspect of the '67.

That narrow molding actually continued into the 68 model year for a while, Barry. Not sure when it ended but I've got one. I like the narrow stuff better.

Thanks guys!

Looks like I will use the old moulding for now then. I was at the junkyard yesterday and did see a 68 with the 67 moulding on it. I was confused until I read mks response.

Thanks mike, I'll have to take a closer look at those early 68's.

The '67 bedside molding is 1 1/4" wide, and the '68 thru '72 molding is 1 1/2" wide (until you get into the year model '70-'72 Ranger truck, which their moldings are 3 5/8" wide). Dennis Carpenter has bedside moldings for your '67. Check them out at www.dennis-carpenter.com, or call them @ 1-800-476-9653. They have the new retainers / clips too.

I think they ran the narrower moldings until about dec 67.
