There is a button like part on the floor board of my 65 F250, I know it is not the dimmer switch, it is about 2.5 inches wide and has the number DF-174 LD on the top. It is located on the bottom left on the drivers side floor pan. it also has a hose or wire coming from that goes in the fire wall. I lose track of it from there.
thanks

Reason: typo
SuperSabre, im not sure what I would be looking for. Most of the stuff under the hood is still there but it is missing a few things. It does look the have a window washing system there but I could be wrong
I hope to attach a picture of my '66 F100 which had a button just above the ignition switch which typically for '65 and '66 trucks with single speed wipers was how the windshield washers were activated. The button looks like an early '50s Ford starter button which, in fact, it originally was. However, W/S washers were not standard but optional on many of these trucks. I believe there was a dealer installed manual W/S washer system in which your foot provided the fluid pump pressure instead of an electric motor. So my question is - does your truck have a button just above your ignition switch (as per my picture) or is that circular flat boss empty? If it's empty, then I'm pretty sure the rubber foot "switch" on the floorboard is for a dealer installed W/S washer. If you want to take it out, go ahead, but if it might be serviceable you might keep it because I believe they are fairly rare.

Reason: clarification needed
While Supersabre uses his as a "windshield washer button" I use mine as a "Air horn" button. I put mine on the floor board away from the high beam button but accesible with my foot.
<table border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0"><tbody><tr><td bgColor="#dfdfdf" colSpan="2"></td></tr><tr><td bgColor="#ffffff" colSpan="2" align="center"></td></tr></tbody></table>
so here is a pic of the area above my ignition switch there is no button.
Thanks for the info about the manual W/S washer. Sadly the only part left is the button. I would like to keep it and make it functional but I would need the other parts. Im sure there was a one way "t" valve, tank and jets that are missing.
Based on the pic I dont think thats an F250...or a 65 F250...the pedal pads were used thru 64 on all of the light duty F series trucks...in 65-66 they were used on F350 and F100-250 4WD with the exception of the 66 F100 4WD
The air vent cable at either end of the dash was also a 51-64 only setup on all of the trucks...They were used on the F350 and F250 4WD in 65-66 as well as the 65 F100 4WD.
Post your warranty plate info and I or a few others can decode it fully. The dash bezel in your picture wasnt used on the Custom Cab trucks in 65-66 except 4WD or base model trucks the exception I believe is the 66 F100 4WD which may have also used the plastic sweep speedo setup.
1964 model year run have sequential serial numbers 445001 thru 580000
1965 model year run have sequential serial numbers 580001 thru 732000
1966 model year run have sequential serial numbers 732001 thru 913999
Furthermore, 1966 model year trucks will have a significantly narrower warranty plate vs 65 and earlier years which are approximately twice as wide.
1964 and earlier trucks also have a dashboard like yours without a small semi circular indentation above the column where it fits into. The F350, F100-250 4WD(1965) and F250 4WD(1966) also used this same dashboard.

That is what I know so far but sadly the original warranty plate is not with the truck do to the driver side door being replaced at some point over the years so I dont have that information handy.
I believe my truck is a base model truck but I dont know. I do know it is not a custom cab do to the lack of all the other options that are unique to the custom cab
I was told by the yard I got the truck from that it might be formally used by the Federal Government. They said they got it from a government auction some while ago
