hello all(again). I've got more of a simple question this time. For those who have answered my questions of late....thanks, this one be so aggrevating to answer. First off, ole blue is almost ready for the road, just waiting for my new tires to come in and be mounted to my newer stock rims as my originals were cracked from the lug nuts out. Someone musta put the mojo to em(lol). Anyway my brakes arent quiet ready, I'm tired of bleeding em for them to only stay tight for 2 days, I dont have any obvious leaks as the driveway is still dry but a local shop said they would shoot pressurized fluid through the system for $25 so why not a buddy of mine had it done to his 86 and it worked, hopefully I'll get the same results. NOW ONTO MY QUESTION: there was a company on ebay trying to sell their seats and stated they would fit 80-96 rigs, so does that mean I could go local junk yard( aka better than most parts stores, parts store!!!) and buy the nicer cloth out of the 92-96 rigs and it be a straight fit and bolt or will it take fabrication work like it usually does.
Yes, 80-96 seats will fit no problem. Bench seats will bolt right in. You may have to drill a couple holes if you get a newer 40-20-40 seat or captain's chairs. I have a 96 seat in my 86 and love it.
My 86 has a seat from a 94 that has the optional power lumber and fold down armrest. To run the 12v to the power lumbar I just cut the seat belt warning wire from under the dash (I always wear my seatbelt and hated the annoying buzzer anyways!) and wired it to 12v when key is on and wired the other end that goes into the actual seat belt to the hot wire to the lumbar control and I didn't have to run any new wires and it looks factory from behind the seat!
