I bought mine from a dealer who sells roll n lock and Retrax. They were them same price, but his recommendation was Retrax. In my opinion, they are just as strong as the roll n lock.

Well that is great to know! I really do like the finish of the Retrax cover so if it has about the same security than the Roll N Lock then I would possibly look that way when the time comes! Thanks

The guy told me the security was the same, but the Retrax had better quality with less maintenance. When I bought mine, I was going back and forth between the two. The thing that made me choose the Retrax was the fact that the Retrax doesn't have that vinyl to maintain. I was worried about it splitting or starting to look bad over time.

The Retrax rolls up better than the old P-E one I had.
The P-E also required periodic lubricating.
The vinyl looked fine, it just came off the base and pulled lose in the wind.
They are stapled down the sides under the side rails.
Buddies Toyota with a P-E did the same thing.

Both were 2-2.5 yrs old.

Retrax tells you not to lubricate.
Have not had any issues in 8 yrs of ownership.

Thank you for your write-up. It sounds like you have had the same pleasant ownership experience with your Retrax as I have had with mine.

I would much rather have powder coating than vinyl anyday!

Prince, When you do buy a cover, be sure to buy a tailgate gasket too. It will keep the dust, dirt, and water from coming up through the bottom and sides. This will help keep your bed clean and dry. They cost about $35.00 and are easy to install.

I suggest you hold off on that tailgate seal. Try the cover without it first. The seal is a bit bulky and not very nice looking. If you need it, you need it, but perhaps you won't need it at all.

All covers have their pros and cons.

TruckCoversUSA is a very good cover, but has not yet been mentioned.

Retrax is good, not much to go wrong. However, if you plan on keeping the cover for a long period of time and the cover will be exposed to the sun quite a bit, you really should consider the RetraxPro over the RetraxOne.

The RollNLock has some tailgate hardware (you have to drill 4 holes in your tailgate) which provide a bit more security. However, the vinyl will need a dressing every so often if you want to maintain good looks.

The tailgate gasket on my truck doesn't show at all and isn't bulky. It fits along the sides and the bottom of the back end of the truck, and you can't see it unless the tailgate is down.

Finally got the Retrax cover installed today. My local shop had Retrax, Roll N Lock and many others. He recommended the Retrax.

Price was good too. He was the same price as anywhere I could find online and he installed it for free. I think I waited about 20 minutes.

You will enjoy the Retrax. I got mine from a dealer that had Retrax and Roll-N-Lock too, and he recommended Retrax. I don't regret my decision one bit.

What if you have the plastic bed liner already installed in the truck...will it make a difference? Do they have a bed organizer like Roll N Lock has?

I had the plastic factory liner pulled out of my truck and sprayed with Line-x as soon as I bought it. There are several different types of accessories on their website, but I don't know that they have an organizer thing like you are talking about.
