Theres a few n/a 300s around that are producing something like 400+hp, though all the ones that ive seen are in pure racers like the Frenchtown Flyer. iirc, he uses a very rare aluminum head and 3 2-bbls? not sure on the carbs, just know theres 3 of em. last i heard, he was in the low 10s i do believe.
if it was a carbed engine, youd have a lot more choices open to you in terms of bolt-ons like intakes, but with an efi, things get tricky, and you have to home-brew a lot more.
Thanks for all the ideas guys. I do appreciate them. About the Nitrious option i'd really like to stay away from that. THis is the vehicle I drive every day!!! Don't want to have to buy a new motor. uless that'll give me a good reason to put in a 351. About the loosing weight thing, I do have my spare off, and I only use one tank.
I thought about changeing the fuel injectors, would injectors from a V-8 fit?? And i've been looking for a forced air filter, or something like that. I do need to take the Cats off but I don't want it to sound like a rice burner though. Does anyone know why ford put 2 cats on the trucks? Do Flowmasters improve horsepower compared to glasspacks?
And also about changing the throttle body, aren't they the same between 302, and a 300??
And whats a MAF? and what does it do, never heard of it.
Thanks guy keep the good ideas coming.

302 injectors will work, check out bigblocksix.com, theres a write up there about how to do it.
i saw a post not too long ago about somebody homebrewing a ram-air setup, i believe its in the 87-96 forum, not exactly sure on that one.
ford used 2 cats for better emissions, i do believe the second is a bit "finer" grade, but you dont need em both, you can hollow out either or both if you so chose. and flows a glasspacks flow about the same, its just the difference of sound between them. either one will give you a few more ponies than the stocker.

the t/b's are not the same size, they use the same bolt pattern though. the 302 is a dual 57mm? and the 300's is a dual 53mm? ill have to check those numbers, but that sounds about right.
MAF is a sensor along the intake tract on the new (96+) motors. a larger on will mean more flow, however, i dont know how much on this app., for mustangs its usually around 5hp or so.
would modifing the 4.9 intake to the throttle body of a 302 affect the iac do to the smaller intake, and would the map sensor come into play if you have a k&n fipk. i have a jet super chip and was told it would manage all my bolt on's but would it manage the extra air.
