Transmission noise
My moms 92 EB 4x4 clacks really bad when shifting from reverse to drive. It is not the u-joint, I think that the chain in the t-case is streatched. I am no expert, but it seems that it is rolling out the slack and jerking the whole darn truck. Any one with any insight as to the problem or diagnostics would be appreciated.

Well, thank you, all 14 of you. I got the problem fixed..... Turns out it WAS the U-joint- the front one at that. So I will take the time now to remind you ALL to grease your universal joints. I had kept the front end greased regularly, every other time I changed the oil, but not the u-joints. Sure, they may only cost $20 to replace, but if you get stranded, that will suck. I will try to get a pic up of the old one...it was bad, not sure how i missed it.
