Does anyone know for certain if the Intercooler issue has been resolved in the 2013 Ecoboost? I am just curious. I did see an article with build dates prior to September 2012 had some issues, but haven't heard if there is anything after that build date.
I haven't heard of any guys with the 2013 trucks complaining of any issues. Supposedly, the fix that came in 2012 is the same intercooler that the 2013's are using but I can't prove that statement.
IMHO, it typically takes up to the 3rd year of production of any vehicle to ID & resolve/improve any problems.....by the 3rd year it's ok to buy....otherwise you are just a test case....

My 2012 has gotten the new intercooler. I compared it to my buddy's 2013 and couldn't see any differences between the two. I'll try to compare part numbers when I see him in a couple of weeks.
A relatively small number of people are complaining of ongoing symptoms even with the updated cooler and related parts and programming. Ford states that if the vehicle has the updated parts, then no other repairs are to be attempted at this time. Engineering claims they are developing a fix, but will not yet say what the solution is.
A few people have made a big deal about the intercooler problem and I think they probably have a legitimate gripe. On the other hand, I have had my Ecoboost for 3 years and it has happened to me ONCE. It wasn't that big of a deal. I had been in cruise control for about 150 miles on a rainy, humid day. I had to pass a car and floored it. I had a stumble for about one full second, it cleared itself and then it took off like normal. Keep in mind, I live in Oregon.... lots of rain, lots of humidity and the stumble has happened one time. I have 36K on my 2011. I think the problem is a bit over exaggerated.
EDIT - after reading the post about a lawsuit... maybe it is more wide spread than I thought.
I just traded my 11 Ecoboost ( not at all because of this subject ) with 36,000 miles..driven in all kinds of wet weather, winter, summer, etc. Never experienced this issue even once. All kinds of driving from just local to extended interstate cruising 2000 mile trips. Funny how it affects some and others ( like me ) have not had a single issue with the condensation buildup. That truck was 100% trouble free for the 2 years and 36,000 miles I owned it. I did my own oil changes and maintenence....it went back to the dealership for the first time, when I traded it in.
