I wanted to check my valve adjustment and found a couple similar methods but when I pulled the valve cover I found rockers that had bolts instead of lock nuts on studs. When I began to make adjustments, I discovered all the bolts were very tight; all torqued the same it felt like. Further, the rocker fulcrum had a square stock post coming out through the rocker and that square post seems to be cinched up to the head by that bolt.
In short this arrangement does not seem to be adjustable unless your just changed the length of the push rod. So my question is two part: A) is this bolt really suppose to just be torqued down and B) how do you check the clearance and make determine the new push-rod length?
