So no fix for this issue yet? I have not experienced the problem yet, but it sure sounds scary to suddenly lose power when you need it.
Just thought I'd share this, what do you think? Any news I may have missed on this in the last few months? Will this force Ford to do something about it?
Hey Tim!
Yeah, I've been busy.
I hope this will result in a fix. Just costing Ford a lot of money wouldn't help much. In fact, I hope there will be an easy / inexpensive fix, hoping that for all the people who have this problem. This is not just a little issue, this is a safety concern IMO.
I hope to have some time to post more here in the near future again!
BTW, my truck is at almost 16K miles now, and I haven't had a single problem.
I think that's a first for me: any other vehicle I have bought new had _some_ issue, even if small. Not my F-150. Knock on wood.
Unfortunately for me the fix didn't work in time to keep damage from happening to other aspects of my truck. It is scary when your truck goes into limp mode or you blow a turbo.
There are 3 people involved in that lawsuit. The basis of the lawsuit is that Ford notified dealers but not the owners. Not sure why this rises to the level of needing a lawsuit.
If you have the problem, take it to the dealer and if it fixes it then all is good. There is no mention in the article if this happened or not.
