after reading another post last night and got me thinking my icp is probably bad.its got an oily film all over it and you can see it on the pigtails.my question could this cause a missing feeling at low rpms in overdrive and sluggish take offs when I first start it up?(epbv is unplugged)also no codes.
my other question is my oil leak.its coming down from up top somewhere.you can see the staning high on the heads however its not soaked, but the valley is bone dry,the oil plugs on back of heads dry.its only wet to the touch about 2 inches above oil pan.and the drips form at the dust shield on the tranny not the weep hole but the back towards the tranny pan.i used a mirror and my hand and the back of the turbo is dry.this is annoying me although im only losing 1 qurt per oil change.also oil cooler is dry.sorry for long post.thanks for any help
There is no gasket... if its grey... its the oem super grey goop international sealant you use to make the seal... if its leaking... the correct way to fix it is to pull the engine... both mating surfaces have to be cleaned spotless... like "lets build a silly cone microchip" clean room clean... and with the engine sitting upside down on an engie stand... the sealant needs to cure for 24 hours...
This engine will drip oil for weeks if left sitting upright...
Flipped upside down... the oil in all the nooks and crannies cant get to the pan...
Well if that's the source of the leak I'm going to deal with that minute amount for now.I'll degrease the bottom end of the motor I guess and double check because the valley has been dry for 7 months now
