How are you goin about changing it to black? I am interested in doing the same. I saw stickers online other than that i haven't looked into it much.
I've got some gloss black vinyl left over and was going to use that. The emblem is actually made perfect for it as there is a recessed groove around the lettering and the outer ovals to tuck and trim cleanly. I'll post a before and after pic tonight or tomorrow.
Well I voted it looked real good...and I do understand that you did not want to do a wrap with flooring and tile. How about a 3d type graphic of maybe some stonework surrounding the company name to make it stand out a bit more? I like the looks of the grill and the headlights too.
That looks real good. Did you just place it on there then cut out the letters?
You kind of have to stretch it over the emblem, the 3m vinyl stuff is a bit of a cross between a sticker and shrink wrap. There is a slight recess about 1/16" deep around the letters and ovals, perfect to run an exacto blade around. Use a credit card or finger nail to tuck the cut edge into the groove. Most sign and graphics places will have the stock colors on hand, otherwise you can order it online.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote or give me your feedback. I was feeling a little self conscious driving around. I'm not used to driving anything other than a stock vehicle. I figured other f150 owners would be the hardest to win over so the fact that 70% of you rated it a 4 or better with this much alteration makes me feel a lot better about the route I went. I still have a few tweaks to make such as a matching lower grill, tonneau, etc.

Thanks again!
How are you going to do the lower grill? I haven't found any that would work for my truck other than getting the street scene bumper. Post pics when you do that please!

Im probably going to have to fabricate It myself, I've taken the stupid plastic squares off a couple of times and I think I can make a mount to fasten it to the truck. Might take a little time before I get to that bit I'll put up some pics when I'm done
Thanks, sounds like we have a similar approach to life. I do take pride in doing things myself and being able to pickup new skills. It was a learning experience but I did all the vinyl (rocker panels/bumpers, step bar, tail-light flow through and hood graphic) myself, installed the lights/flares myself, and modified a carriage works billet grille to better suit my liking. Definitely was able to stretch the dollar a bit more by doing most of it myself.
Thanks for the feedback!
That's a carriage works grill? How did you modify it, weld pieces on the front?
Very interesting FlooringGuy, you aren't far from where I used to live. I worked in Hudson, WI until last November when they moved me out to Connecticut. I miss that area badly, but not as much with your current gas prices!
