Powerstroke emblems on Excursion

In the process of buying my fourth X! Except this is the first diesel. It is a 2004 6.0L. I am aware of a lot of the issues but it has most of the goodies to prevent problems. It is a southern truck so NO rust ( don't see that up my way in NH )!

I want to add Powerstroke emblems to the doors like the pick ups. Anyone done this on there X? Pictures? Where is the best place to buy them, dealer?

I sort of like the stealth diesel look of the ex. The ex screams, i get awful fuel mileage steal something else! The keen eye recognizes the correct exhaust location, while parked. And the ears and nose can tell when running..

I've been thinking about some custom Billet Badges now that they are Ford licensed... No diesel here, but custom nonetheless

I think that the emblems are held of with double sided tape.

OP, make sure to get the big chrome ones that are for the 6.0, and you'll want the early version and not the '05 up. Sorry, just **** about having the correct badge.

Powerstroke badges are just double side taped on. I have the dimensions of where they should go on the door at home, it's like 3 1/4" back from the front of the door or something and about an inch up from the curve in the door panel there. That's for the black with chrome letter 7.3 badge.

For the 6.0: "On the 2007 dually, the front of the badge is 2.75 inches behind the seam of the door, measured at the top corner of the badge. Hang the edge of the tape in the seam between the mirror plastic where it meets the door, and the top of the badge is 15" below that."

The '03-'04 6.0 badge is the chrome one with two black bars along the bottom, with the words Turbo Diesel centered over them. The '05+ version has a big Turbo Diesel wording in a red block with chrome letters. The '03/'04 reads "Powerstroke V8 Turbo Diesel" whereas the '05+ reads "Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8".

For 7.3s, they are all black badges. The one with two red stripes is for the forged rod engines, late '99-'00 (early '99s had a fender badge like the gassers). The later 7.3s ('01-early '03) have the same style badge but with chrome bars (so it's all chrome and black).

Excursion badges are held on with the same double sided tape, but they have three alignment pins. Not sure about the barn door ones.

I love mine without badges. stupid bmw's and hondas line up to the left of me in DC metro area traffic, planning on flooring it, cutting me off, and slamming on the brakes to take the next right. Half of the time they hear the turbo spool up off the line and change their minds, diving on the brakes. The other half of the time they get beat and have to duck behind me anyway. but its fun to keep them guessing.
