door autolock procedure
I am interested in enabling the auto lock creature in my 2001 ex.
I have read about both procedures, with the ignition, and the exterior keypad. Neither method will provide me with a confirmation beep.
I'm left wondering if the 2001 model can even do this.... It appears all the excursions and pickup trucks up until 2009 or so all can do this.

My '02 did though, but I dunno about the '01's. Someone else will have to chime in.

#1. Mine is an '05 it has autolock, at 5-10 mph doors lock. Not sure about '01 though.
#2. No horn beep on remote lock or keypad. However, if you press the "lock" button on the remote AGAIN horn will beep once.
I find the beep to confirm is REAL annoying when you come home late at night.

It annoyed me, mostly when hooking up trailers. Every single time I would jump out, walk around to the back only to find the rear hatch locked. Walk back around to the door and hit unlock and go back, this happened every single time! Same with letting the kids out, stop, get out, try to open back doors for kids, oh yeah damn doors are locked!
I disliked everything about it. They say it is safer in an accident too? What happns when your unconscious and the X is on fire after the accident and the kids are in the back? Unless someone has a auto punch or a hammer it is a pretty good chance they aren't going to break a window to get you or your kids out with the doors all locked.
