Turbo noise
I have a 96 f250 Porwestroke with 50,000 miles. I recently had a 4" exhaust installed, eliminated the cat and had a 3" round turbo down pipe installed. At the same time I bought a superchips max tuner. I tow a 7000# enclosed car trailer. In all three power settings of the tuner(the third being the stock setting) I an getting a rapid "chuf, chuf,chuf sound comming from the area of the turbo or downpipe. It happens as soon the turbo starts to make boost pressure and gets louder and faster as pressure builds. I didn't have this problem with the original exhaust. The boost gauge doesn't seem to flucuate with the noise and there does not seem to be any loss of power. The truck runs strong and pulls hard but I am afraid to tow very much until I find a cause for the noise. I didn't think this was a commom problem with the early PSD's. Any Help?
