Is it possible to remove the 1st bench that is behind the drivers seat and instead place bucket seats and brackets? Not sure if the vans are configured so that either a bench can be placed there or buckets if optioned that way.
Speaking for 92-07 vans, the third row foldabed in our Chateau was replaced with a pair of second row style buckets. You'll need the buckets and brackets and possibly bucket-appropriate seat belts to keep things looking OE, and there might be extra bolt holes in the floor to plug. What you can check for yourself is whether the holes in the floor for the second and third rows represent the same footprint.
Our van is in the shop for AC work so I'm not sure when I can give you measurements of the holes in the floor for second row buckets.
Our van is back and AC is blowing nicely. The second row bucket seat bracket holes match the footprint of the brother-in-law's '06 with second row bench. You should be good to go. On the other hand, the third row bracket holes on the starboard side are offset to the middle 5- or 6 inches. A pair of buckets should fit but they'd abut rather than have a center aisle. There's an exhaust heat shield in the way of me seeing if the '06 is pre-drilled for a foldabed.
We really do like the idea of 2 captains chairs as the 1st row behind the main seats so if I was able to find the brackets and seats out of a yard, and could replace them, that would make things fantastic.
I have found an 02 online and an 01. The 02 is starting to show rust per the dealer, and they want big money (due to it having 87k). The 01 they want what I feel is a very good price but they only have 1 pic online so I need to call them.
