Christmas in MAY!
History: Blew the 460 up in the bronco in 2011. Spent 9 months in the machine shop getting the shortblock built, 513c.i. major head work, H-beam rods, comp cam, roller rockers, etc etc.
I trashed the rear rod bearing by overrevving the engine, so I wnated to replace the pickup due to metal shavings in the screen, better safe than sorry, right? But could not find one that fit my oil pan to save my life. So I ended up ordering a 10qt from Bronco Graveyard that they listed as being for the 80-96. Turns out, it is actually only for 78-79. I put the motor in, and oil pan was on the crossmember.
But now, we can try and get the engine in this weekend, if we are lucky, she'll be cranked before sunday night. She has been down for a year and a half at this point, and I just missed mudfest lastweekend on my unsuccessful attempt to get the engine installed.
This whole pickup/oilpan thing costs me over 2 months on the install...and hunting season 3 months.
82 bronco on 38.5" boggers with a 513c.i. being installed, 4 spd manual /granny, 208 TCase with a 205 sitting on the side for when the 208 breaks.
