Is there spark? Does it crank more easily if you disconnect the TFI?

i pulled the wire out of the top of the dist. to check for spark w screwdriver... i could not see spark but the engine turned over easier. re attached the wire and the engine had hard time turning over and when finished i heard a wooosh or the sound of releasing pressure???

Did you pull the distributor out when you changed the module? Or did you just turn it?

i did have to lift it up and turn to get to module but not completely out

If your battery is charged, then I would say your timing is probably way off. I would get the engine to TDC on the #1 cylinder. Then check and see if the rotor is at the #1 plug wire terminal on the distributor cap. You might have to pull the distributor to get it timed right.

thanks for the help fellas!!! had to pay the man and get out of the way. Called a mobile guy so got to watch and assist which helped me learn a little more about my ride which was the goal in the first place
