Wow! Not much left of the containers on the house. I hope that near wall is going to be picture windows facing the lake.

Starting to look like something now. Will work continue over the winter months?

There are a couple of windows and a double door on that wall. The reason there's nothing left is that what you see there is two containers halved and stacked side-by-side. The two halves in the center have had the container's doors removed. What isn't window or door on that near wall will be skinned with what was cut off of the sides of those containers.

Hopefully it'll get buttoned up enough that work can continue on the interior when the snow comes. As long as we still have access that is, I don't think anybody plows the road down to the property from the Caltrans road.

Got a chance to see the progress first hand this past weekend. The last of the containers was being placed on the garage floor.

Hey Steve, been up there lately? I sure hope they have a way to insulate the containers...

Not since I took those pics on the weekend of Oct 19th. The project is probably going to shut down until next spring pretty soon.

Steve, I know you won't mind if I pick up the story here.

I was in the area last week and stopped by to see the progress on "Steve's house" overlooking Lake Crowley. I'm happy to say that work is coming along. They have the job site cleaned up nicely too. I was hoping to find the owner home so that we could chat, but I missed him. Looks to me like they are going to get it all weather tight before the snow comes.

The house main floor is small, I think 800 ft/sq, but the generous overhang on the front and rear gives a lot more second floor space. I'm not sure if that will be storage or living space.

Nice large windows face out toward the lake. You can catch a glimpse of the view reflecting in the glass.

Still some exterior insulating to be completed.

Nice garage, which has a larger footprint than the house.

Nice old CJ too!

THANKS, Bill, for the follow-up. We now have just a little more closure.

Great photos.

And yes, it's too bad the owner wasn't home to chat.

Again, thanks for doing that!

Is this the project?

We went up in September, but turned off onto US-6 in Bishop, so we fell a few miles short of seeing it.

I suspect we all will think of Steve from now on when we pass by there.

Anyone been by the site lately? I'm guessing it should be done by now. Google map photo must be old.

Last time I was by there, last month, it was night-time.

Was being chased by weather, so didn't slow down.

I looked, but couldn't determine anything. It's dark out there.....

I was by there in Oct and again in Nov. I believe it is done, but it did not appear as though anyone has been living there. To the extent that I wondered if it had been abandoned or something, or at least made me wonder about the guy. Maybe now that it is built, he is killing time until he can retire and move up there. Construction is complete outside, but I don't know about the inside. Weeds are grown up all around.
