On the trip home and the 60-mile drive to work and back I averaged right around 18 MPG on the computer, which is right about what I expected. I know it won't do as well as the trucks with 3.31s, but after break-in I hope to average 20 MPGs. Time will tell.
Needed the max tow for this:
In the pic the trailer is nearly 16,000 lbs, but I don't plan on ever having it that heavy again. The new F150 is rated to tow more than my V10-powered Excursion is, so I'm excited to get a trailer behind it in another 900 miles!

A reasonable post. You bought a pulling machine and pull she will!
What are the plans for the Ex? Gonna turn the truck into a full time commuter?
Thanks Steve!
Sadly I'll be selling the Excursion. Before the truck I was making payments on a Fusion and repairs to an Excursion. My solution was to deal with larger payments and eliminate the variable cost of keeping up with a 13-year-old Excursion.
