Morning, Shaun.
Ordered an electric radiator fan, fan controller, throttle rod end, and firewall boot, Pat. Putting it all on this weekend in Charlotte, then I'm driving the truck back here.

Single fan should be fine, I have the dual fan set up,
1 because of the A/C
2 headers keep it hot under the hood
3 more modern trucks run hotter under the hood than the 79
I have one fan to come on with the A/C, the other on a thermostat/ probe. Very seldom do both fans run at the same time. Usually then, you've been sitting a while idling with the A/C on, on a hot day

I may eventually add a second 12" pusher to the front, depending on how this one does.
There's also an old Avalon at work that's about to be scrapped. Might could grab the fan off that.

Just make sure, if the fan don't fit all the way over the radiator, keep it closest to the inlet (top) Probably, that will be plenty of fan for you.

BTW, make sure to use a flange over the water pump pully, I didn't on my first set up, and the belt twisted the pulley so bad, it jumped off, and ate itself up
I just cut the back off the fan where it bolted on, and put it back over the pully. you probably can take a large washer, and drill holes in it to do the same thing
