I have a 74 F100 with a 302 that I plan to swap with a 351HO from an 85 truck. Should it fit in place of 302 just fine or is it going to have problems (engine mounts, bellhousing bolts, etc.)
I have a C4 transmission if it matters any.
Simple swap. Exhaust and accessories are the only major obstacles when doing the swap. And you might need to change oilpans and pickup tubes. Check the 73-79 forum for more information, several of us have done the swap, and we all love it.
you need the oil pan and pickup tube, distributor,
intake manifold from the 351. the distributor may have to be changed if its a tfi ignition. the 351 is taller and wider so if you staying with stock exhaust you will have to modify the 302 pipe or but a new 351 pipe or go with headers. if the 85 has a serpentine belt set up make sure you get everything for it.they use a reverse rotation waterpump and differ from earliar v-belt setups
