Ooops
I installed the first part of my axle swaps today, the 9" on to my 93 F150. Started the day of with having to borrow some 12ton jackstands from a friend as my like peewee 6tons couldn't even touch the frame. The 8.8 came out in a heartbeat and the 9" took it's place, the brakes were a pain in the *** as always but we managed to get them togeather. Did a couple break in periods around 25-30mph. I decided to take in on to the turnpike, Make a quick run up to a Lowes and back, around 45-50mph. On the way back the truck started to shake and shutter, as i was pulling off the road the whole truck dropped down drivers rear and i saw my tire shoot past me. Upon inspection it looked like the lugs and come totally off the tires and the wheel and all the brakes went with it. I had always used a wrench to tighten the lugs but decided to use the impact wrench. I will never do that again, i'll stick to the way i did it before. Thankfully there was only moderate damage. Mayde a damaged rim.
