Pulled a 2000 f250 apart

Bought a pair of f250's. Both 7.3.
A 2000 and 2002
Attached is the motor out of the 2000. It had 466,000 km or 291,000 miles.
Pulled most of its life, for a steel erection company. Stock everything.
See the heat patterns on the pistons

Anyhow I plan on pulling the pistons and rods, maybe I'll use the rods someday or at least have a few cool wall hangers

If you notice... the heat soak patterns will coincide with the alignment of the ports on the injector nozzles.

Are you rebuilding that '00 block?
If not... where are you located ?

Also - I read on this forum by few stating trucks with tuners received this pattern !
Not so , since this truck was run hard but never tuned !

Lots of load means more fuel required to pull it..

In these monsters that means more boost and heat.

Pretty much 100% towing duty for 200k can easily equate to 10k of tooned coal rollin sillyness... the heat soak still happens maybe just takes a little more time...

If it didnt have gauges on it theres no telling... could have been a one time long uphill pull with a really bad ebps...

Neat tho.
