Complete 77 Frankenstein... Or not??

Little introduction i havent been on this sote in years and actually no longer have the truck i had when I first joined. Don't think I have made any posts haven't even looked logged on and wanted to get some opinions. Anyways how yall doin names Brandon 21 years old live in Cali. Daily driver is a 2013 toyota tundra. I know bad bad on a ford forum ha but truth is I don't have a preference on trucks so I'm not one that talks trash bout what ya drive. Anyways enough about me here's what I'm here for.

So I have been wanting to get my hands on some sort of project to keep myself busy and not so darn bored, I have my chance to get a 77 f150. Friend that has it originally bought it for the radiator and turns out he don't need it. Goin to get it for cheap. And not to sure how good it runs if at all. Now I want to do something just to do something and have spend money I don't have and won't have for a couple years like many folks. I have done some research on diesel swaps and everyone does the 4bt and everyone shuns the idea of a 6bt... But I'm goin for the 6bt. Frame work suspension work so on and so forth.

My idea here:
1977 ford f150
Do proper frame reinforcement
24v cummins with NV5600
Dodge D60 front axle
GM 14 bolt ff rear axle

Now I know there's goin to say why not just save the money your goin to use and buy a 2500. And some that might possibly say ur an idiot. But like I said I want the project. I'm not against just buyin a dodge with everything I want already in it.
I could possibly get this truck running for cheap and flip it got a couple grand towards a truck if it's even worth a couple grand.

Long post I know but I'd like to see what kinda feedback I get.
Thanks for reading and look forward to the insight

Good luck registering whatever you come up with. It will not pass smog with a diesel and you wont be able to transfer the title into your name.

You will forgive my blantancy, but it doesnt quite sound like you are entirely ready for what this project will actually entail.

That part of research I haven't done much on. There's a possibility this truck ain't in the system and if I have the proper certs and tags stating the engine and get a good lazy referee it could work out. If not then i can keep it non op'd or green sticker it and use it for a mud truck and off road fun.

I know it's not gunna be a simple swap and nothing will bolt up with out some fab. It's goin to be a difficult I understand. But what's the fun in something simple.

Thanks for the reply I understand what you are sayin bout the smog. Not sayin you're wrong or anythin ha
