My truck sounds like a school bus, or a dump truck...
But I'm confident this is the last exhaust I will have to buy.
The stock replacement muffler was >$250 MY COST! and the tail pipe another $70 or so.
I paid $50 for the SS pipe and $85 for the muffler, bought a couple of flanges and made my own hangers.

If I were you, I might post in the "Junkyard Wishlist" thread, or down in the WTB sub forum.
There were plenty of 2WD 460 trucks back in the '70's.
They would have the brackets you need. (and -for some reason- a lot of these guys get a serpentine front dress kit)

Well you've got a problem because the C6 never really locks up.
I had a T-19 gearbox (same 1:1 in top) with my 4.10's it would be screaming at 75, but could pin both the tach and speedo.

You are probably looking for 3.73's or somewhere like that.
I don't know which rear end you have but in many cases it's cheaper and easier to just swap rears, rather than buy a R&P and set it up.

Just my 2c

Edit: did not see Bill's generous offer above while typing my reply.

I see what your saying, but for some reason, I'm really bent on keeping the drivetrain original, even if the internals are not. I don't mined putting money into a Dana 60 so it will probably stay even if the gearing doesn't.

What ratio do you have now?
I'm not saying find a different KIND of rear, no matter what I think about working on those Dana 60's...
Just find one that better suits your needs/wants.

I'll have to look in the door jamb and get my book out to decode it.

73 shows up as a 6300 lb axle. Is this a semi-floating axle or a full floater? As you can see from the list below, your choices for gear ratios are limited if you have the heavier rearend(the full-floater). Here is what was a available in 85 for a f250.

semi-floating, Spicer 60-3, 3.54 ratio
semi-floating, Spicer 60-3, 3.73 ratio
semi-floating, Spicer 60-3, 4.10 ratio
semi-floating, Spicer 61-2, 3.00 ratio
semi-floating, Spicer 61-2, 3.07 ratio
semi-floating, Spicer 60-U, 3.73 ratio
semi-floating, Spicer 60-U, 4.10 ratio
semi-floating, Spicer 60-U, 3.54 ratio
full-floating, Ford, 3.08 ratio
full-floating, Ford, 3.55 ratio
full-floating, Ford, 4.10 ratio
full-floating, Spicer 61-1, 3.07 ratio
full-floating, Spicer 61-1, 3.54 ratio
full-floating, Spicer 61-1, 3.73 ratio
full-floating, Spicer 61-1, 4.10 ratio
full-floating, Spicer 70-U, 3.54 ratio
full-floating, Spicer 70-U, 4.10 ratio
full-floating, Spicer 70-U, 4.56 ratio
semi-floating, Ford, 4500 lb (3.55 ratio, 8.8" ring gear)
semi-floating, Ford, 5300 lb (10.25" ring gear), 3.55 ratio
semi-floating, Ford, 5300 lb (10.25" ring gear), 3.73 ratio
semi-floating, Ford, 5300 lb (10.25" ring gear), 4.10 ratio

You can try to put the dist on manifold vacuum, but I bet you do not like it. It's hard to get it right with a automatic tranny.

It also seems you have a Dana rear rather than the Ford/Sterling 10.25" that is in mine.

The 460s had direct vacuum to the distributor, just had different restrictors and delay valves depending on engine temperature.

Good to know.

It's gonna get confusing with deleting all these vacuum lines. Are these delay valves a big deal, or something that can be done away with along with the rest of the emissions? Again, I want this thing as bare bones as possible.

So I'm gonna have to get one of my old auto meter tach's out and hook it up just to see what I'm running on the freeway (60-65mph). So you guys are saying these gears should be fine for what I'm gonna need the truck for?

Just an update on today's progress. Spent about two hours removing the rest of the vac lines, and the smog.

Looking closer to what i had in my mind. But anyways...... With me keeping the PCV and the EGR systems, how many vac lines am i gonna need. One for the EGR, and one for the Vac Adv........ any more than that? And for the EGR, were should i draw vac from?

The last three pics, which ones should i get rid of, and which ones should i keep? For the ones that im able to get rid of, anybody know what size/type plug it takes?

If you are keeping the egr, then you need the thermal vacuum valve it runs through. This keeps it from opening with a cold engine.
