63 front axle
Hopefully there is help here for me. My 63 F250 PU has cracks in the left front spindle where everthing pivots to and fro. Due to the cracks the tire bows out at the bottom and puts my driving it to a big stop. My alternatives are welding the areas in question which top and bottom of opening, another front staight axle(my choice) and finally a little slicing for a used front clip. I hurts not driving her but can't take a chance on it failing on the streets. Anyone with guidance on my problem is welcome.

Simple enough to replace the straight axle with another. Should be easy enough to find with all these guys tossing them for Aerostar front clips. 
Of course, if you have any desire to do the upgrade, now is the time.
I would not weld that. Too critical, even in the hands of a skilled welder.

You are so right. I would see that as too critical for weld and some what of a bitch to reach since the openings are narrow. My call is to find an axle that has been tossed in favor of a clip so that I may continue on my slow restoration.
