New to me 99 F150

Well I purchased a 1999 Ford F150 5.4 4X4 today, 104,950 miles for 5500. The truck, well to me it has a lot more pep then any of my other trucks. I am going to change the oil tonight, and a air filter tomorrow before church, but I wanted to ask about the ignition.

No not the whole spark plug issue, I plan on when I do them spraying some penetrating down on them and letting them soak before I do it, but I plan on putting new coils on it, and was thinking about performance. Are there any 'Canned Heats' that are good for some extra pep? I am not looking for drag racing performance, just something so I can adjust ignition timing, etc.

Also any advice on these things? This is my first Mod. engine.

IIRC you have the COP coils? just stock coils from a chain parts store will run @ $55/each....I really dont know if you'll see any marked improvement, I noticed more pep in those trucks when the stock air filter was swapped out for a K&N (or similar) air filter, oh an FYI I have heard horror stories of getting the coils wet and it'll kill them,I seen you just got this truck, and wanted to put that out there in case you decide to clean under the hood. Good Luck!

Thanks Elemonator, I have read into this truck a bunch and found your better off going with a 8 set COP aftermarket set then buying them individually from like Autozone (Former Employer) and last one I sold was 61 dollars.

I also read where the heater hose will come loose and needs tightened up, going to check that later.

I been looking into a supercharger (Something to put on it once I get my folks paid back) but I find for these trucks there discontinued, wonder if one for a newer 5.4 would work???
