95 vs 96 Dash harness question
I'm looking for some opinions on what is going to be the least amount of work. I have a wrecked 95 EB Bronco that I'm moving all the nice optonal parts from into a 96 XL Bronco. Everything has fit nicely but I'm up to the dash harness and I now have to make some decisions. My 96 XL harness does not have the remote door wiring which is a "must add" in my view. My 95 EB harness has this wiring and the theft feature wiring which was not available in 96 but it does not have the OBD II wiring. I see 3 options, modify the 95 harness to add the OBD wiring, (apears to be the least amount of wires). Add the remote door wiring to the XL harness and go to a 96 factory door module without the theft feature or do a partial wire on the 95 module (I haven't seen the 96 module yet to compare them but without the theft stuff it can't have too many wires). My last option is to go and get a 96 XLT harness (I believe the remote door wiring is in that one) and then do a partial wire with the 95 module (or find a 96 module).
I have decided not to add the push button 4WD hardware since the manual system is so much more reliable, (and I don't want to replace the case) so that wiring is not an issue with my XL harness.
Anybody have some thoughts on which way to go??
Tom
If you ARE comfortable with modifiying the harnesses, do whatever is cheapest and will give you the functionality you want.
