Talking Fuel Gauge/Other Dash Prolbems

My fuel gauge will read fine up till 3/4 tank and then it will stop, it will read the same no matter how full it is over 3/4, so is this a prolbem with my sending unit, or my Ins. voltage regulator, or my gauge, or could it be a ground on the gauge or in the fuel tank itself?
My other gauges did work, my oil pressure did work but i took out the sending unit for a "real" oil pressure gauge, my alt never worked(I have another one hooked up I see the P.O's 10 gauge wires going to the alt harness under the hood), and I don't know about my temp. I see the wire near the sending unit for my aftermarket temp gauge, so I don't know if it works or not...
I'd like to get all my stock gauges to work properly, and keep my after market gauges for accuracy.
Also, I don't have a speedo cable, I have the gear in the tranny, It's just broke in the middle
Right now the only gauge that works is the fuel gauge, well only up to 3/4

IMU, It's a grounding problem that occurs in the sending unit.
