AOD Swap
Has anyone tried putting an AOD (Automatic Over-Drive) in one of these trucks? I’ve seen early Mustangs with them. Will the mount work or do I need a conversion kit? My truck is a 1977 F-100 with a 1992 5.0 H.O. C4 automatic 2 wheel drive.

Not for shure on this but I think all you need to do if you have a c-4 is to fab a new tranny mount and shorten the driveshaft. You may also need to tink around to get the linkage to work right.

the linkage is different, the tranny mount is the same, maybe a different location, the drive shaft will have to be changed(lengthwise) and the kick-down requires a progressive movement, not the traditional kickdown movement

That throttle volume cable is the most difficult part. It has to be just perfect or your tranny won't shift right.
