The zf6 is way more trouble than its worth. You will need a zf5 from a diesel.
X2^^^^^^ The ZF6 isn't just a bolt in swap. The amount of work to put one in isn't worth the trouble. As I have heard it put before, " The juice isn't worth the squeeze".
The ideal way is to have a complete donor truck, but that's not always possible. Since your truck is 2wd, it will be a little easier. You will need.......
ZF5 trans
cross member
trans wiring harness
floor pan with shifter hole
pedal assembly
clutch master and slave cylinders
solid flywheel and clutch assembly
steering column cover
key release mechanism
drive shaft will have to be lengthened
some wiring mods
manual PCM or have your auto PCM flashed to manual
thank you very much bill im starting to save money to start collwctiong parts to do the swap so i was going to buy a part here and there as far as tyhe clutch system im going to buy everything new except the flywheel and tranny. i was thinking it would be better to change the collum. But pretty much what i thought thank you very much bill
No problem bud. Do you have a solid flywheel now? If not, you may want to go ahead and include that in your clutch kit. I recommend Valair.Performance Clutch - Ford PowerStroke
