Unhappy New 6.0 will not start!!

Hello I am a new owner of a Sonic Blue 2003 XLT Sport Crew Cab with the 6.0 and 5 speed auto. I've had it for about 5 weeks now and it has 2270 miles on it. Up until Tuesday night it had no problems. I got in to go someplace turned the truck on and then turned the key to start it.......nothing. Not a thing! The truck had power just nothing when the ignition was turned to start it. I had to have it towed to the dealer. They say it's a defective starter? They say it was built with an internal defect. Of course the truck is so new that a starter has to be shipped to Washington State from Sacramento California. If I'm lucky I'll have it back tomorrow. Has anyone heard of this going on with any other 6.0's? Could they be wrong about the real cause of the no start condition?
I was really hoping I wasn't going to have any of the problems I have seen listed here.

First I've heard of it. Probably what they said......bad starter. I'm across the I205 from you. If you're on that side of Vancouver and you're not happy with Dick Hannah or whoever you bought it from take it to Courtesy. They've got the best diesel team in oregon, and are extremely knowledgable about the 6.0. They have to be now that we're all dealing with the issues. One suggestion for you. Like Joe said to me, if you don't have any problems don't expect one........but also if you do end up with some rough idling etc......the smaller stuff that you've probably seen....be careful about getting it reflashed. More than likely it will make it worse. Hang in and check back often lots of owners across the nation that are giving good info about their own experiences and what is and isn't working.

Thanks. I actually bought it at Landmark in Tigard. They had the one I wanted and gave me a good price. I have dealt with Courtesy also and think highly of them. As a matter of fact I would have bought from them if they would have had the truck I wanted. My truck is at Vancouver Ford right now since it was the only decent sized dealer in my 35 mile tow limit. They seem to be concerned about good service, so I guess I'm OK for now. If I have any more problems I will take it to Courtesy and I thank you for the tip on their service department.
