Well, I cannot get my truck started, and have found the reason to be no fuel. I have changed almost everything but the pumps in the tanks. If one pump went out, then could it pump gas from both tanks? I just changed the dash switch and the reservoir ( spelling ) switch ( one on the frame ). Still no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It sounds like you are not getting fuel from either tank is that correct? If that is the case than you might have a few problems. One good be the high pressure pump located on the fuel rail just near the drivers door. If it has one. Or you could have a fuel pump relay or inertia switch problem or main power heading to pump or relay. Have you checked all this out?
Well I replaced all the fuel parts but the tank pumps. I got gas, but after it runs for a minute it messes up. I got a computer from a van and put it in that is when this started. Is there a difference between a comp marked 8PK and 8Pr if so that will be my problem now. Well thanks in advance for the help,
Ken
What year's your truck? How is it equipped? From my experience, Econoline van's used the same computers for all three transmissions, but I've never came across a M5OD van.
Like the above post, it could very well be the high psi pump if your truck's 1989 or older. If not, then I would check psi from both pumps. Ford pumps generally don't just stop, they lose psi over time till there's practically no psi comeing from the pump.
Ok well it ran for about 15 minutes, then it sputtered and died. Now every time I start it, it runs like it is bogged down and will die.
I have a 88 Ford F-150 with the 6 cylinder engine ( 300? ), and nothing special, just an xlt-lariat. I just really like this machine.
one thing I did notice was when I switched tanks this happened. All the pieces from thwe filter down are replaced fuel filter, pressure pump, reservoir switch, dash switch * front to and rear tank switch *. Front tank is about 1/2 full and back tank is filled up.
Thanks again
Ken
Well my neighbor convinced me it was a problem, and so I changerd the comp. Yes the motor was the same size. I will get the manual this weekend and go through it.
Any help would be appreciated,
Ken
