My tire shopping excursion for my 2004 Expy resulted in 4 BFG Long Trail T/A tires. These are purely highway rated and carry a 60K mile tread wear warranty. I just finished registering them on the BFG website.
Anyway, not a bad deal. All four out the door with the lifetime service package was $682.00. I purchased them at BJ's wholesale.
Glad you are happy with your purchase, but keep an eye on them. They come with a 6 year warranty on materials/workmanship & you may nee it. My Mark LT came with those and each one experienced tread/cap separation...the worst of them was the spare tire....it had almost 1/4" separation. I also experienced a spontaneous sidewall blow-out.....about 6 months new....Lincoln replaced he tire free & later advised that BFG could not find any reason for the failure....
The Michelin/BFG/Uniroyal line has experienced what appears to be a lot of product failure- especially predominent (seemingly) with the introduction of the "Orange Oil".
After seeing the issues on my own truck (4+ years worth)- I got them warrantied, pulled them off and running Yokohama 580's .
the only problem i had with them when i ran them on my 88 was dry rot cracking.
i got close to 80,000 miles out of them, and had to take them off the truck because the sidewalls were so dry rotted that the cords were visible through the cracks.
i am positive that if the sidewalls did not crack i could have put at least another 30,000 miles on them with no problem..
Ran those on my '97, were the best BFG's I ever ran lasted a lot longer than any set of TA/KO's I have had. KO's turned me off from BFG and I haven't ran them since.
I'll be checking these pretty close. My 2011 may need a set of tires next year sometime and if these seem to be working out well then I'll get a more aggressive set for my truck.
