Excursion Limo hub bearing

Hello I have a 2001 excursion limo with 108,000 its a v-10 2 wheel drive with stock wheels and tires. I believe both my front hub bearings are going out, Im hearing some grinding at slower speeds and while turning, but seems to be ok at highway speeds...Anyway I think im going to replace both front hub bearing assemblys. I wanted to know what I should go with, I looked at Advanced autos web site and they offer two different ones, Drive works and Moog. Drive works is 117.99 and Moog is 214.99 Just wanted to know what to go with, if anyone has had any experience with either and if i can save 200 bucks...and go with Drive works brand? Thanks for any help!

I agree, go with a well known name, even better if there is a warranty.

You'll want a reliable work truck. How long of a stretch do you have?

FWIW you might want to look into timken, they are slightly cheaper (found online) and are the OEM units. IMHO Moog is just another overseas company as well as the store brands. I have Moog units on my EX and one is starting to go bad after 12,000 miles.

Since the limo is 2wd, won't it have the inner and outer bearings and not the whole hub assembly?

Thanks, I guess I will go with moog or timkine like someone else mentioned. The Excursion is a 120" stretch by the way.

Think of it this way:

Go cheap now and it will cost you more when your doing it the second time than if you just got the good stuff and did it right the first time.

Timken should be the first option, moog is great as well.

That's what I found too.
For about 70 bucks you need to get an inner and an outer bearing and a seal for the inner.
I just researched this since I need to do it, seems like an easy job.

The guy who bought my parts Ex's frame worked at an Autozone. He said the Timken units used to be really good, but they had recently moved production to a new overseas supplier and quality was really going downhill. I went cheap on my black Excursion because I knew I wasn't keeping it too much longer, so I went with the Duralast brand from Autozone. He said that the house one, despite it being so much cheaper, he actually sees last much longer.

Most of their plants are in the states.

Locations

And yes the 2wd has a normal inner and outer bearing and a inner seal. Just like it used to be for all trucks until they went to the POS sealed unit.
