Wonder how short the driveshafts would have to be... Lol.
Yep, 3 cyl 5 speed, 993cc's of asphalt ripping power!
I'm pretty sure the driveline and suspension would outweigh the whole stock car, 1680lbs for the base Metro like mine. Each of my EX's tires is rated for over 1000lbs more than the Geo's GVW. The driveshafts would be nearly vertical!
I don't think it will happen here though, might pull the MPGs down under 50.

"One does not drive a Metro for gas mileage." is something I expect to hear if this becomes a fad..... It would be quite funny.

I just found a Metro for sale locally for $200 with a blown engine. I happen to have a built SBC that's about to be laying around when I pull it from the Chevelle. Now all I need is either a Samurai or YJ frame and we'll be in business!

Kicking it around semi-serious. My fabrication skills with a welder leave a lot to be desired however.

Matt, It's a Metro shell sitting on top of a Sami frame with a hot SBC powering it. I don't see where any fabrication would be needed, should all just bolt right up! What could go wrong?

I have arc/tig/mig experience, sounds like fun.

Just keep the Ketel One and Maker's Mark in a vault (away from me) and I am sure I can weld a very straight line.

If you start feeling like one of your welds may be breaking just step on the gas and you will be right. It feels good to be right(according to my wife).

One has to wonder where you would stick such a build thread.

I do believe the General Automotive thread would be such a place. Been meaning to start one for the Chevelle in there, especially since I recently obtained new motorvation for it by means of a 454 that will become a 496 with 650-700rwhp as the goal on motor. Accentuated by a 150 of nitrous edit** haHA beat Stewart to the punch. Slow Red Letter Dictator.
