My check engine light turned on, checked the code and it came up with P0401, EGR insufficent flow. I replaced the EGR vlave, and the light came back on the next day. Now, I'm kinda comfused cause I know there are a few parts to the EGR system, but now the question is what to replace next?
REPLACE THE EGR PRESSURE REGULATOR!!! Theat's the metal rectangular piece ... it has been updated with a plastic one ...
Part # F77Z-9J460-AB
To it there is t rubber hoses that have to be hooked up to it
I paid $116.34 plus 15% tax for it. That's Canadian dollars, u do the math =) Unfortunately, it's a dealer only part.
By the way, I have a 96' Explorer (4.0L V6 OHV). Another thing, I asked the parts counter girl if they sell a lot of these & she said yeah .... compared to the EGR & EGR vac. regulator... This is the second time I replaced mine & in both times I saw some sort of mineral buildup in the lines of the part. Maybe this is why they make them from plastic now....
