1956 F800 Fire Truck
A guy in our club has this fire truck and is looking to sell it. He recently had to move and no longer has room to store it. I don't have any better photos of it at this time but it is a California truck and it looks to be in good condition. I know that there are members on this forum who like fire trucks, maybe one of you can give me an idea of what this one may be worth. I believe that it runs but I am not sure. Thanks.

Yeah it's a nice truck. Who wouldn't want a fire truck? The problem is where would you keep it? You big truck guys seem to have that figure out though.
I have no idea what something like that would be worth. The trouble with selling trucks like this is that your market is more limited due to its size.

Somebody save it....My pops used to caretake for 49 fire truck. It was the oldest in the fleet of 4 all of which were all newer. That old faithful ford was the only truck which allways started!Seemed as though the newer chevies were scared of fires?
I live now in a small town barely more than 300,we have one decent older pumper and a 3 ton chev with a plastic tank that looks like worse than most farm trucks around here. When I am at the firehall I think about that 49 and how reliable it was....We would be lucky to have something like that, maybe a little slower but probably allways get there. And boy they sure look good in a parade!

Olweldinrig, It sounds like your town is a great candidate for this truck. Clean it up and put it back to work.
I do agree that someone needs to save this beauty. I just got an image of a crazy old lady that has 100 cats in her house saving them from the dog catcher. I think a bunch of us would fall into that category if we had the money and place to keep these trucks.

We sure could use it!That would either be one huge shipping bill or a drive long enough it would be wore out by the time I got it here...I am going to do some digging, last I heard that 49 was on a farm stripped of pumps and not running. It seems once we moved nobody knew how to look after that gem!To bad...Sounds like the ghost of the old firefighter who used to ride shotgun wouldn't help any of the new guys lol.Not joke,I remember Dad talking about a presence in it......
