there is nothing wrong with using green coolant in a diesel as long as you also add athe diesel coolant additive to it.
i now have over 496,000 miles on my 88, and it has always had green in it.

is this for your excursion?
if so, i think the recommended coolant for that is gold. that is what i have in my 02, because it came with it. the 88 came with green, so that is what i always put in it.

Not every time my egr was fine but I deleted it anyway but my oil temp was 20-30 deg. Higher than my ect because screen under oil cooler had become plugged and tore ! Well I inspected my egr and it looked ok but I haven't cut it open to look inside it yet but it doesn't seem to ever have leaked !

i feel the same way about my 7.3.
it is bad enough taking it down to the heads.i would not want to go any lower than the valve covers.

If you're talking about something like Zerex G-05, it specifically states "low silicate," which is what you want in a diesel. I'm not sure what you mean here.
