shortbed racetrack trim

Has anyone modified the racetrack trim (w/vinyl insert) of a longbed to fit a shortbed? I only ask because I have access to all of the longbed trim. I do have the uppers on mine.
Thanks

you must be talking about the upper bed side molding. the race track molding doesn't have rubber inserts, their painted.
sell yours on e-bay and buy new from Dennis Carpenter.

molding/trim

Maybe I have the name of the type of trim wrong. I assumed its a race track. On my truck the uppers have the vinyl trim. On the donor truck it has the same upper but also has the lower sections(no vinyl) and the connecting curve on the back. I am curious if anyone has cut the longbed sections to fit a shortbed. I don't plan on spending hundreds on a non show truck. And the donor parts are cheap. Have yet to see any donors(for trim) in the wrecking yards for a shortbed.

what year is your truck? wheel base? I'm going to a fellow that has quite a few fords setting around and I'll look to see what he has and how much. he's getting another in tomorrow. never heard of anyone doing what you ask but was going to try it myself one time. If you got the track go ahead and mess around with it. nothing ventured, nothing gained
