It's not clear in the manual. Does the rubber sleeve pictured here come out also?
The manual doesn't really say. It says using a fish wire pull the cable in to the cab, which makes it sound like that piece stays in place. But I don't see how the prongs on the retainer and all that can pull through it. I wanted to check before I force anything.
The housing with the rubber grommet are attached to the pedal assembly (grommet attached to cable housing).
Only way I know how to remove the entire assembly (including cable) is from inside the cab. IIRC it's 3 10mm-head bolts... two on the firewall and one on the dash front frame. It's pretty easy and will become obvious as you take stuff apart.
I have the pedal assembly out and the cable removed from it. The rubber grommet (looks about 3" long) is still in place in the floor
with cable going through it. That's what I wasn"t clear about. if it should stay in place or not.
