My 95 F!50's ABS light comes on one day, then the next time I drive it, doesn't show up at all. No real pattern associated with weather, distance or speed. Has happened a couple of times this last week. Any ideas on where to look first?
Thanks.
i had the same problem in my 95 as well. i was told that it is most likely the sensor on top of the rear($115 at my local ford dealer). i guess it tends to get buildup of particules on it, and then doesn't work quite right... whether or not its true, i took the easy way out to remedy the problem.
when i had the dash apart to replace my temp. guage, i just took out the lightbulb. i've never owned a truck with rabs before, so i guess i'm used to driving it like that. it still stops, and i'm not planning on getting rid of it in the near future, so it works for me
$115!!!! He must of made a mistake, that part is like 20-30 bucks. It's just a fancy magnet. The only problem is that when the light is flashing or is on, that means your ABS system is not working. Pull the codes from the computer and that will tell you which direction to go.
I was in a junk yard one day getting other stuff and happend to see a rearend identical to mine. I pulled out the sensor and put it in mine. problem solved.
