8 Lug to 6 Lug conversion

Dang thats hard to read....
No, front hubs will not work on the rear. Your wheel hubs also have nothing to do with spline count. These must be some pretty special wheels for you to even consider 35 or 40sp shafts as an option to run them.
Like Ive told you many times the EASIEST way to convert your 60 rear to 6 lug is to have your stud holes welded, machined flat and redrilled by a competent machine shop...not with a 4" grinder and 3/8" drill in your back yard. After that you can buy a 6 lug rotor, a 80s 2wd chebby caliper and a disk brake bracket from any 4wd supplier. All this considering the center of your wheels will fit over the wheel hub.

Obviously if you can't figure out why you can change just a hub on the front and have to replace shafts on the rear, you need to stop now while you are ahead and just buy new wheels.
The expense you are going to incur converting to 6 lug is going to offset the cost of nearly any set of wheels.

I'd check the splines on that 60 rear.
Did you also price a new carrier and someone to set up the gears?
I never once said a lot of work was required. I said you need a machine shop to do it to your wheel hubs. I assume you know your Chevy rims will fit over the hub and I also assume you know 15x10s are available for 8 lug axles.

He's saying 850 for hubs and shafts....I think
He would need a 35sp carrier (stock or aftermarket or at minimum the side gears) or a 40sp spool, Detroit or ARB plus install kit and labor.
Better add a minimum of $500 and up to $1500 on top of that $850 depending on which spline count he sells you.
