On monday, after putting a few gallons of gas in, the truck seemed to run a little weak. Nothing bad, just noticable.
Tuesday Morning the engine would turn just fine, but would not catch. Not even a cough. After work I checked for spark by the scientific method of sticking a screwdriver into a sparkplug wire and holding it near some metal.
I saw no spark, so I think my coil is bad.
What I need to know, Can it be anything else besides the coil?
You didn't say here which BII you have. Not sure which year, but the "later" models came with the TFI-IV ignition system. The TFI ignition module has been somewhat of a problem (enough that Ford settled a class action lawsuit out of court). I've heard that some parts places can and will test the TFI module for free and tell you whether or not it's bad.
Also, make sure you engine ground is in good shape. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if a bad ground could also cause a problem like this (not being able to complete the circuit).
