01 Expedition Thermostat Replacement Issues

I just changed the thermostat on my wife's Expedition with a 4.6L V8. I bought a 195 degree thermostat. After replacement, the vehicle now runs really rough, almost like its getting too much air or something. The RPM's bounce a bit and it seems to be lacking power. The check engine light came on, I disconnected the battery for a while to see if the computer needed to be reset, etc. That didn't help any. I can't find anything unplugged or damaged and the intake looks fine.

Before the thermostat change, the vehicle ran fine and jut didn't have good heat. Now it has good heat and runs bad.

Any suggestions?

Either something was knocked loose and you're just not seeing it, or you got coolant/water down in one or more spark plug wells.

Chances are, you either bumped something else loose (intake, electrical connector, etc) or you got coolant into a spark plug well and it's causing a misfire.

Edit: Yikes, beat me by a few seconds!!!!
